MIGRAINE & PAIN CONTROL
Between 15 and 30 percent of adults suffer from the blinding, disabling pain of migraine. This figure increases when other forms of headache (such as muscular tension headache, cluster headache, vascular headache, and posttraumatic headache) are also considered.
Cancer pain can range from heavy, aching, or cramping sensations to “pins and needles,” burning, and shooting pain. Cancer treatment pain can include nausea and actual vomiting.
If there is a pain more excruciating than a severe burn injury, it is the pain that results from the treatment of the burn. Every trauma patient will experience pain, but a burn injury requires repeated procedures that usually stimulate excruciating pain. And, unfortunately, many burn patients suffer a good deal of needless pain because they are undermedicated.
Other painful conditions include arthritis, fibromyalgia, bruxism, dental pain, phantom limb pain, and surgical pain. Depression and feelings of helplessness are common among chronic pain sufferers.
Hypnoanesthesia alone or, hypnoanesthesia combined with the use of the pain medication prescribed by your physician, can make a significant contribution to your overall feeling of comfort. Hypnotic patients who do continue with their pain medications often experience a marked decrease in both the usage frequency and dosage size of these medications.
